In 2010, Infrastructure UK reported on an investigation into how to reduce the cost of delivery of civil engineering works for major infrastructure projects.
This Main Report sets out the conclusions and recommendations from the investigation. The investigation was led by Infrastructure UK in collaboration with wider government, the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and industry. It was carried out between August and December 2010, over which period an Infrastructure UK team, supported by industry secondees, gathered evidence on civil engineering infrastructure delivery from over 300 organisations, including over 120 interviews in this country and abroad.
